I am a student of photography and video and I need a new desktop PC. Can anyone recommend one?
Sorry if I look really stupid, but I'm not very good with computers, Although I managed to gather some characteristics techniques and programs that I really should / already use. I work with Pinnacle Studio 11 and Adobe Photoshop for editing, with a DVD / Video DV PAL (I'm in the UK). Digital photoshoots often leave me with 200 + images around the file size of 4MB each. In addition to this, I currently have a backstore video files over 8GB. I'm also looking for my new PC to play Neverwinter Nights one and two with all the expansion packs, as my current mobile simply does not like them. rewritable DVD / CD players are a must. Firewire is a must. I'll also need at least 2 USB drives, with at least one USB2 be. Can anyone recommend a desktop to meet these, I am confused to consider all the details on websites and I do not really understand the graphics cards, sound cards, or something like that. Thank you!
Dell XPS 420. £ 549. It SGOT 3.4 quad core Q6600, two hard drives of 320 MB in the raid, the FireWire ports on the front and back, two front USB ports, four in the back, taken microphone and headphone front and rear. His bonus received HOM Vista, but comes with three gigs of RAM. Thats more than enough, but also comes with a video card Nvidia 8800GT 512MB card and thats cracking. Both video games and working photpgraphy / can be done in RAW mode. It is a beast of a machine. You will need a good screen though, as it does'nt come with one. I coupled to a game with TFT Samsung 226BW 2ms response time. Its got the color balance and a large photo Editing is a breeze. Any quad core will show the future of your needs. Hope the info useful.
