digital photography equipment reviews
Has anyone had experience of bridge cameras?

During the past year, I developed an interest for photography. I use a digital compact and currently have a 7-megapixel HP Photosmart. I joined a photography club and participated in contests with mounted prints and have been fortunate to receive a tribute of several entries and second. I want something better, but I'm not enthusiastic the idea of a DSLR as I like to "point and shoot" with all the advantages that offers and spontaneity. I do not want the clutter of lenses and other photographic equipment. I read good reviews on the latest Bridge Camera Panasonic, which offers more features that my current camera. I would be grateful for any views or advice.

For the Panasonic you have in mind, Here are two sites in camera review that I always turn to: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/default.asp http://www.steves-digicams.com/hardware_reviews.html? view = alpha DPReview site also has a user forum Panasonic http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/forum.asp?forum=1033 If you type the model number, you will probably find some good advice and testemonials too. My personal experience with a bridge camera has been quite disappointing. He was the child 3 years Nikon Coolpix 8700, and since I upgraded to a digital SLR. I do not particularly enjoy walking around with a heavy camera bag any the day, but I found that the standard zoom in the 17-55mm range covers about 90% of my needs. This is still a relatively small package. I can not fit it in my coat pocket, but was the same for the CoolPix. You can also get relatively low-125mm zoom 18 for greater range. Curiously, my main Because of the upgrade was that the CoolPix Do not let me take pictures spontaneous. I felt as if I was still waiting on the camera. The electronic viewfinder introduced a 1/10th second delay, auto-focus was low, and shutter lag has added another within 1/10th of a second. The technology has improved over the past 3 years, but point & Shoots (including bridge models expensive) are still miles behind digital SLR cameras in terms of responsiveness. With my DSLR, I can just point and shoot and my guardian rate plans of action and strong tenfold. There are also other advantages. A DSLR is a much better tool for photography in low light. I do not know about the Panasonic, but with a DSLR you can do night street photography, etc. You'll probably also enjoy a DSLR gives you more control over depth of field. So before you for the Panasonic, I suggest you visit a store camera and compare options hands. For (much) less than $ 800 you can get a Nikon D50, Canon Rebel XTi or Pentax K100D.
